A lot of time was spent going over research into Mound Bayou. We went over many iterations of designs and colorways to land on what we see in the final picture.
Recreating Mamie's dress in her historic photo posing with Gene was a really fun challenge. Marci Rogers Did an amazing job on the costumes for the film.
